SEL (Social Emotional Learning): is an integral part of education and human development. SEL helps young people and adults recognize and apply skills and strategies to identify feelings, manage emotions, achieve personal goals, have empathy for others, make responsibly decisions and develop healthy relationships.
At JMC all students participate in our SEL program in rotation with special classes. Through the Rethink Ed curriculum, we help our students become self aware and develop problem solving mindsets that guide our students to success. The RethinkEd curriculum includes lessons such as Making Friends at School, Safety First, What's Your Superpower, Boundaries, You Can Change It, Our Responsibility, You are Unique, Be a Friend, Acts of Kindness, Showing Empathy, and Expressing Emotions.
